  • Weatherization Contractor & Project Information

Please note, all three incentive options require the home to be sufficiently weatherized before heat pump installation. Sufficient weatherization can be demonstrated by satisfying either of the following requirements: (A) Home was built in 2010 or later (B) Weatherization recommendations made in 2013 or later have been completed. Only pre-approved weatherization recommendations made through the program are rebate-eligible, when installing a heat pump.

  • New Heat Pump System(s)

The system(s) AHRI number can be obtained from the contractor. This unique identifier allows the system to be verified against the NEEP Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump Product List. The AHRI number is typically an 8-digit unique identifier and is required for reviewing and approving the proposed system(s).

  • Whole-Home Verification

  • To be considered a whole-home heat pump solution, the system must be designed to condition 100% of the home's living space by volume and supply between 90-120% of the heating load at the correct design temperature for the home's location. A Manual J calculation is the best practice for determining the heating load.

Systems that condition 100% of the home's living space, but supply less than 90% of the home's heating load at the design temperature are partial heat pump solutions. Systems that supply more than 120% of the home's heating load at the design temperature may be oversized. Oversizing can potentially cause performance issues and decreased operating efficiency (higher operating cost).
