Image 1: Take one photo (less than 3 feet away) of each insulated exterior line set.

Insulation must cover entire line set length (both pipes) to avoid condensation and energy loss.
Take one photo of each outdoor unit from a distance to show the line set and ground clearance.

Once insulated, the outdoor portion of the line set shall be protected with a rigid cover to avoid insulation damage. Each outdoor unit must allow for free air flow and provide adequate clearance of at least 12" snow depth.
For each outdoor unit, please also provide one photo of the model number plate.

Take one close-up photo of each model number plate with all information clearly visible. Once one photo of each plate is uploaded, you may scroll to the next question.

Indoor wall-mounted units must be installed with adequate clearance from the ceiling per the manufacturer's guidelines. In rooms with higher or vaulted ceilings, units shall be installed whenever possible so that the air discharge is no higher than 8 feet from the floor.

If ducts and/or air handlers in unconditioned space can’t be avoided, all joints and seams in duct shall be thoroughly sealed with duct mastic and all components shall be insulated to a minimum of R-8.

Questions
If you decommissioned an existing system containing refrigerant, was the refrigerant safely recovered per EPA guidelines?
Line set(s) were pressure tested using dry nitrogen and evacuated with vacuum pump per manufacturer’s instructions.
Are all line set penetrations into the home covered with PVC, rodent proof, sealed with insulating sealant or spray foam?
If any pre-insulated white polyethylene linesets have been installed, did you follow the lineset manufacturer's installation guidelines?
Unsealed terminations and damaged insulation have led to instances where the integrity of the lineset has been compromised from moisture ingress resulting in failure of the copper lines, releasing harmful refrigerants and preventing the system from conditioning homes. Proper termination of the insulation ends to prevent moisture ingress should be made by sealing the insulation to the tube per manufacturer guidelines.

Is the condensate line sloped downhill and away from crawlspaces, walkways, and other outdoor equipment?
Does each outdoor unit allow for free air flow and provide adequate clearance of at least 12" snow depth?
Is every outdoor unit level side-to-side and front-to-back?
Are any ducts/air handlers in unconditioned spaces?
Is all new ductwork sealed and insulated to a minimum of R-8?
Are all applicable breakers clearly labeled on the electrical panel?
If thermostats are used, are they on interior walls, away from direct sunlight, appliances, or drafts?
Has the customer been shown how to correctly use the thermostat/remote control?
